The South San Francisco Life Science Career Fair evolved organically out of grassroots efforts and is the result of the life sciences community coming together to help our displaced colleagues. This effort was initiated by the three local Biotech HR peer groups: Biotechnology Human Resources Network (BHRN), Biotechnology Organizational Learning and Development (BOLD) group, and the Senior HR Group (SHRG). This year’s event is co-hosted by The City of South San Francisco and the California Applied Biotechnology Center – Bay Area. Everyone involved has volunteered their time, services, and/or expertise. This truly is public-private collaboration.

A: Please send an email to the Planning Committee at ssfcareerevents@gmail.com. - Q: Will I be able to see resumes prior to the event?
A: Yes. Taleo is our sponsor for on-line registration. You will be able to review pre-registered candidates and post your available jobs prior to the event. Once you register for the event, you will receive an email from TBESupport@taleo.com with your login and password. - Q: Can I do on-site interviews?
A: Yes. We will have areas sectioned off in the Employer Lounge for private interviews. Candidates will only be allowed into the interview areas when escorted by a company representative. - Q: What is the agenda for the day?
A: 8:00am – 10:00am Set-up and Breakfast (Main Hall & Exhibitors’ Lounge)
10:00am – 4:00pm Career Fair (Main Hall)
11:30am – 1:30pm Box Lunch (Exhibitors’ Lounge)
2:00pm – 6:00pm Light Refreshments/Snack (Exhibitors’ Lounge)
4:00pm – 6:00pm Break-down
The Exhibitors’ Lounge is adjacent to the service corridor and separate from the Career Fair Hall. Please pick up your name badges and other information in the lounge. - Q: Is parking available on-site?
A: Yes. Free parking is available onsite. Please park in the back of the building. There will be carts available for you to carry your boxes. The service corridor will take you directly to the Career Fair area. Do not load or unload from the front of the building. If you do not need to unload anything parking is available at the Center as well as the three neighboring hotels. - Q: Can I ship my booth and materials in advance?
A: Yes. The conference center can receive your materials three days in advance starting Thurs , February 27, 2010) of the event. Your materials will be held in the receiving area and you will need to collect them and move them on the day of the event.

Box X of Y - Q: Can I ship the materials after the event?
A: Yes. You will need to bring the return label and call your shipper. Both UPS and Fedex pick-up are available at the Conference Center. - Q: What do I need to bring if I need electricity for my booth?
A: Please bring your own extension cords and power strip. If you plug into Conference Center outlets without a power strip, it will short circuit your system. - Q: Can I hang up signs on the walls?
A: Yes. If it is a soft wall, you can use Velcro. If it is a hard wall, you can use double-sided tape. Please do not pin or nail anything to the wall. Facilities personnel will be available to answer your questions and to assist. Please work with the planning committee to determine the location of your table. - Q: I understand the media may be present. Can I opt-out?
A: Yes. Please let someone on the planning committee know by sending an email to ssfcareerevents@gmail.com.
